La historia se desarrolla en Cuba en los últimos veinte años, o sea, en la etapa post “Periodo Especial”, donde una docena de mutantes, un grupo de individuos que han sido manipulados genéticamente en un proyecto científico ideado por Fidel Castro para construir el “hombre nuevo”. tratan de explicarse la causa de sus insólitas habilidades al tiempo que intentan encontrar su humanidad e indagan sobre su pasado. Pero el experimento no considera todas las variables y pronto explota contra sus creadores, creando una unidad de seres altamente inteligentes, crueles e incontrolables. Fidel Castro, “actúa” en el filme sin necesidad de un actor que lo interprete. Con la grabación de su imagen y su voz, se vuelve un personaje creíble. Virtuosismo artesanal, riqueza visual, trozos de comics, comerciales, noticieros, documentales, imágenes de archivo, animación japonesa dan forma a esta obra de Miguel Coyula quien escribió, produjo y dirijió este film controversial, irreverente y transgresor, estrenado en el Festival de Moscí y censurado en el Festival de Belorusia.

The story takes place in Cuba in the last twenty years, that is, in the post “Special Period” period, where a dozen mutants, a group of individuals who have been genetically manipulated in a scientific project devised by Fidel Castro to build the “new man”. They try to explain the cause of their unusual abilities while trying to find their humanity and inquire about their past. But the experiment does not consider all the variables and soon explodes against its creators, creating a unit of highly intelligent, cruel and uncontrollable beings. Fidel Castro “acts” in the film without the need for an actor to play him. With the recording of his image and his voice, he becomes a believable character. Visual richness, archive images, Japanese animation give shape to this work by Miguel Coyula who wrote, produced and directed this controversial, irreverent and transgressive film, premiered at the Moscow Film Festival and censored at the Belorussia FilmFestival.
