In the context of a rainy day in Mexico City, a disconnected group of people live a rainy day and night. A disparate group (a taxi driver, a school teacher, a gangster, a nurse, a crime victim, a pool hall owner, a troubled couple, a prostitute, an immigrant) shows us how we are all more connected by the circumstances of what we believe. The film explores snapshots of their lives, forming a tree of experiences that branches out. with each new connection that arises what seems to be the underlying current of this film where the characters search for help, comfort, familiarity, nostalgia or resolution. The metaphorical treatment of rain makes it a character in itself, its presence, intensity and even its absence is relevant. With an original script by Paula Markovitz, high-caliber performances and captivating cinematography that uses symmetrical scene framing (à la Wes Anderson) the revelations produced are significant, with a depth that adds dimension and retains a fascination that inspires the desire to discover the motivations and stories of the characters. Juan Perros portrays a man who works tirelessly in the face of an arid and hostile environment to survive in the Mexican desert. His testimony envelops us in a complex universe of thoughts that narrate his near-death experience in a brutal attack that forces him to live off the waste generated by his community. Forgotten by society, Juan lives with his animals, practicing a humble and radical philosophy of life. Through a direct ethnographic record, with an intimate and emotional treatment, the documentary seeks to make the viewer a companion of Juan, who through the depth of his words approaches the essence of the human and natural, the sublime and brutal. Unlike most individuals, Juan has not lost his bond with nature, rather he has strengthened it.
